We are happy to support the students of the polytechnic university Johanneum in the construction of a racing car for the “Formula Student”. This is our investment to strengthen highly qualified researchers and engineers, and as a result, to strengthen the Austrian national economy.
The “Formula Student” is the world championship of engineers of the next generation. Each year around 4,000 students from all over the globe compete against each other in the UK, America and Australia.
Each team has the assignment to construct a prototype of a single-seated racing-bolide and to develop a concept of how to fabricate four of these vehicles per day. For this purpose there are certain standardised rules, by which the students have to abide.
We support them with LED-elements for brake lights, rotation speed indicators and electrical circuitry for rotary speed measurements.
High demands are met during construction with tuned motors, racing gear and optimised chassis as well as preheated tyres for the race. The students try to get the most out of their vehicle through meticulous and detailed work.
The amateur inventors have a lot more to offer than just their technical abilities. Their appearance at racing competitions and presentations is one hundred percent professional. They designed their own newsletter and a great homepage and even their own calendar with not only the bolides as models but and the students of the polytechnic university.
The students are giving their best to achieve the optimum results. We wish them all the best and good luck and first ranks in all the races, and we are glad to have made a small contribution to this!
